HURRICANE CHOIR DIRECTOR TEAMS
UP WITH MACNUTS
TO BRING ACOUSTIC MUSIC CONCERTS TO ROCKINGHAM AND MANDURAH AREA
On Sunday September 23rd (3.00-4.30pm), MacNuts will present its first Acoustic Music Studio Concert at Kirana Hall at the MacNuts Farm on 213 Doghill Road, Baldivis.
Kirana Hall is a beautifully crafted, rammed earth/limestone building full of light with superb acoustics. This concert features a fantastic local 9-piece group THE HOT NUT CLUB one of whose members includes Martin Meader. Meader was the co-execuitve producer and co-writer of the $26.5million Glenn Close movie, PARADISE ROAD. He has just returned from USA, where he worked voluntarily to create and direct the 300 voice 'Hurricane Choir' - a choir made up of survivors of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Meader says that during his time in USA, he was keen to form a small singing group and on his return to Australia, formed The Hot Nut Club with a group of friends, one of whom is Sindhu Dobree, owner of MacNuts Farm. The Hot Nut Club have repertoire that includes acapella and instrumentally backed songs such as: Baby, Face, I Can't Give You Anything But Love, Blackbird, Paper Moon, Blue Moon, Amazing Grace, House of the Rising Sun, Making Whoopee, I Shall Be Released, Ghost Riders in The Storm and original works.
Tickets are $20.00 and must be purchased in advance as the audience is limited to 100. Tea, Coffee & Cake are included. Tickets can be purchased by calling the office at 9524 2223 - Credit Card facilities are available.
